Welcome To Texas

One of my first articles on this blog was titled "Slick Rick Perry", I must admit I was being a bit secessionist back then but It appears the post was a bit premature. The Department Of justice is now investigating the recent gerrymandering tactics of the Governor Of Texas, Rick Perry, who felt it necessary to try and reduce the voting power of over 479,704 Hispanics and African Americans in his home state by signing off on a redistricting effort that removes the voting rights of close to a 500,000 citizens. Not only can you not vote with a student I.D. in the great state of Texas, but a NRA gun I.D. is permissible.

The feds say there’s “ample circumstantial evidence” that the redistricting maps signed by Texas Gov. Rick Perry had the effect and intent of limiting the voting power of Hispanic and African American voters. But what’s the evidence exactly? Let’s take a look.
The most telling evidence Justice Department lawyers cite in terms of the state redistricting maps is a comment from state Rep. Beverly Woolley, who led the redistricting process in Harris County (an effort which excluded any minority members of the Harris County delegation).   “[Y]ou all are protected by the Voting Rights Act and we are not,” Woolley told a number of minority representatives. “We don’t want to lose these people due to population growth in the county, or we won’t have any districts left.”
In another instance, Rep. John Garza told Rep. Joe Farias that he needed “more Mexicans in [his] district” but rejected areas where Hispanics were politically organized.
DOJ’s expert report also cites emails to and from Rep. Lamar Smith, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee which oversees DOJ. The expert says the emails make it clear that “racial as well as political data were most accurately driving the line drawing.”

Rick Perry this week went public with challenges to President Obama's education and background, since Governor Perry is so highly educated, considering what he's trying to do in Texas.

Rick Perry is from a small town in Texas called Paint Creek, population 3,322. Of those 3,322 people 84.48% are white, with less then 165 people in that town being of African American decent. Perry attending Texas A&M where he was promoted to yell captain as a male cheerleader. He graduated with a degree in Animal Science, with a 2.5 GPA, which prepares a person for a career in livestock breeding. During his years as a student he work very hard as a door-to-door salesmen for Dortch Oldham of Southwestern Company, where, according to Perry, he developed his communication skills.
According to the Perry camp, he is the descended of a local native American tribe, but I suggest you take a long hard look into Amelia June Holt, Perry's mother, that one drop rule might be applicable.
After attending A&M Rick Perry returned to the family cotton farm and work with his dad.
He wants to be the President Of The United States now.

There is a national effort to remove the voting rights of the African American and Hispanic voter that turned out in rocord numbers in 2008 for Obama. All across the country, local republican legislations are passing laws that limit the democartic voters ability to go to the polls and cast their votes.
These laws must be submitted to the DOJ for approval, to make sure these new laws don't discriminate against any specific group of people, no matter what there ideology might be.

It's a wonder, the republican party will go to great length to limit the power of the citizens rights to vote. There is data to support that foreclosures that swept the nation in record numbers, with middle class Americans, who tipically vote democratic, were greatly effected by the robo signing of documents that initiated the housing bubble crisis. What does this mean?, if you own a home for 20 years and your I.D. reflected that address, and your state just pass a new law saying you must have a valid I.D. reflecting the district you live in but you live with your relatives, friends, parents, or whatever, because you recently lost your home, as a result of the bubble popping, you might be required to obtain a new I.D. at the state run location with a line that runs outside the door.

All of these tactics are to deter the voter from getting to the polls next November. Ya!, I think I was being bit presumptuous when I said Rick Perry was being a little Slick.
