Where do the republican candidates that are running to be the next President live?, last night's foreign policy debate was a look at the absurd ideas of the republican party. That this country is not safer under the present administration, that the removal of the threat that was posed by Bin Laden was kicking rocks, that the liberating of the Libyan people who will hold free and open elections, with zero lost of American lives was something Dick Cheney and George Bush could have done if the wanted too.
Michelle Bachmann held China up in comparison as to what America should strive for when it comes to social safety nets issues, China!. " China doesn't have food stamps, China doesn't have social security, their citizens save for their own individual retirements" Do these people read at all?, Herman Cain basically has come right out and said, in so many words, he has no idea what to do about foreign policy, and those decisions will be left to who ever the Koch brothers appoint in his administration.
Mitt Romney seems to believe, base on who he has surrounded himself with, for foreign policy advice, (Bush's hawkish advisers) that invasion and killing people is the answer for every issue we have with respect to our foreign affairs.
Nobody on that stage last night had any sound realistic ideas on how to deal with the complicated matters we face abroad. Newt seems to think we have the right to murder indiscriminately, Rick Perry made the statement that he would do away with all foreign aid, if he read a paper or two he would know that the aid we send is basically aid that is spent here in the U.S.A. on military supplies, that in turn makes these country much more depended on us for power.
I've lost count on how many debates these people have had, it's like a old re-run of a show you didn't like in the first place. The same silly, clueless statements from a group of people that have no idea as to what there talking about, just say whatever you think a bunch warlords want to hear.
Honestly I think it's a waste of good prime time to have these republican candidates on the air over and over again, we already know where they stand on theses issues, so why not put a good educational program on the air that might provide somebody with some useful information, oh!, ratings.
I guess if your President Obama, you watch these debates and say to yourself, you've got to be kidding me, that's it!, this is the cream of the republican crop?
Personally I can't wait until one of these well informed republican candidates squares off with Obama in a debate, it's going to be like Ali, in his prime vs Homer Simpson, rope a dope.
