Finally, the Iowa republican caucus is over, we've had three months of media hype, three months of debates, and the ever so discriminating positions these republican candidates have been taking regarding democratic voter suppression.
Iowa is predominately a white state, not many African-Americans in that farm land. I traveled through Iowa in the 1980s on my way to California, it's a nice state, quite. Lot's of open spaces, the air seems cleaner then the city air I breath everyday. Obama did carry Iowa in the last presidential election, but Iowa is a red state.
The one thing that caught my attention about the Iowa republican caucus, a state that fought long and hard in the state legislator for state I.D. to vote, in last night's republican Iowa caucus, no I.D. was required to cast your vote for your choice of republican candidate. I repeat no I.D. required to vote!
The state lost it's battle for I.D. requirements, but it seems to me, if the republican party was so overwhelming concerned about making sure there wasn't any voter fraud happening they'd ask for I.D. at one of there own elections.
Iowa, like I said is a nice state, mostly white folks live in Iowa oh!,, and one more thing, no fear of voter fraud
