The fight that has been going on in the states to completely control their individual policies and laws, without any input from the federal government is as old as the fight between the north and the south. Ever since the south loss the civil war there has been an attempt to remove the connection between Washington D.C. and the state legislation's that continue to accuse the federal government of over reaching into there way of governing.
The problem with this assumption is the states that cry fowl, only cry fowl when the federal government steps in to level the playing field in cases of injustice. If there was no federal government intervention during the great depression, the area of middle America that suffered the great dust storms when share croppers were making there living off the land wouldn't have produced the millions of middle class white Americans that have the freedom of speech to call the President a terrorist today. Ever since these federally funded families got there assistance, and farm loans, and tractor loans, and everything else they could get for free to work their way into the fold of middle class status, they have been condemning any efforts from the federal government to assist others who are American as well.
Anybody that isn't a native American is a immigrant to some degree or another, the Jews, Irish, Italian, Polish, Dutch, German, each one of these nationalities arrived here for the most part dirt poor, needing the federal government to give them the head start they needed to get there feet planted and start a American life that they felt they had coming to them for no other reason other then they felt they deserved it.
When the states take complete control over every aspect of the laws that govern their citizens, without any input from the federal government, what you get is slavery laws, anti-women laws, second class citizenship laws and mandates that oppress people of different ideologies.
If there was no help from the federal government, Rick Santorum might not be here today. His Grandfather benefited from the intervention from the federal government, the owners of those mills and coal mines he talks about all time were oppressing the workers, like his grandfather, until the workers decided to form unions and organize.
Anti-abortion laws that effect complete strangers, voter suppression laws that effects complete strangers, as if everyone doesn't have the right to make that decision to vote for whoever they decide they want to vote for.
You don't have to be white, middle class, and Christian to have a vote in these elections that take place.
Obama was to be the President to unite the masses, instead, the white American took his election as a sign of loosing the country. The statements coming from the right about him boarder on treason, you can hear them crying aloud, head for the hills, it's the end of the world, there's a black man living in our White House.
To think these people call them selves highly intellegent.
