I've read several blog posts these last couple of days explaining how the weather down in Florida has something to do with the republican convention and how the republican political platform is being tested, tried, opposed, and several other silly adjectives describing Gods hand at work. I remember when Pat Robertson made a comment regarding Hurricane Katrina being a hammer on the sins of New Orleans and it's citizens, this was Pats message from Gods lips, to Pat Robertson's ears, and onto the airwaves via his T.V. Show. I remember when Pat Robertson made some other stupid comment about the earth quake in Haiti and the deal the citizens of that country made with the devil 200 years ago and the earth quake was God punishing them for it.
Now the last time I checked, which was about five minutes ago, this country, America, suffers hundreds of weather related deaths every year. Floods, twisters, mud slides, rock sides, cold, and heat. Is this God punishing the good Christian people of America?
OR!!!! is it just the weather? Maybe it's Mother Nature being controlled by God when he feels it's time to kill off some Americans that made a deal with the devil. No, that would be sexiest and suggest he's using a woman to do his dirty work and that would support this other popular theory today about the war on woman.
I went out and had a couple dozen oysters on the half shell today at my favorite seafood place and seen a man sitting at the oyster bar that must of weight about 300 pounds eating a large plate of something like someone wanted to steel it from him. Now is that Gods fault as well because the look on some of the woman in that place suggest he was trying to start a war with his self.
Let me tell you when the hand of God swings into action in your life. When your crossing the street, talking on that cell phone, not paying attention, right before you get hit by that car racing down that street, a stranger yells out, hey watch out, that was God in that complete stranger saving your life. When you see a savage unlawful act being carried out, and you decide against all odds of survival, to intervene and don't get your head bashed in, that's God keeping you safe.
Now if you get up tomorrow and head out the door to start your day and it's raining or whatever the weather is doing in your part of the world that particular day, well you can attribute it to God or you might just say it's seasonal and it will past, just as night follows day.
God might have created the Universe, but I think he leaves the weather on auto pilot hoping after a few years of life we'll get the hang of it.
