I haven't posted a personal opinion about the state of the presidential race lately because frankly it's obvious I'm somewhat bias about the whole thing, me being a left leaning liberal and all.
I wanted to bring one issue to the attention of my readers that I thought was worthy of mentioning, the C.B.O. Director Mr. Douglas Elmendorf opening statements on the hill the other day regarding the state of the economy under this president.
No matter how much the republican congressman and woman tried to twist the report, the John Boehner appointed republican leaning director clearly feels the states that are implementing a slash and cut policy are the very reasons the economy is so sluggish in its efforts to recover. Of course there were the few moments when he, after the question was twisted in a fashion that the answer had to favor the person asking it, he sounded like he supported the right wings positions but if you watch the whole two hour segment, which is what I did, you'll see and hear the same thing I did, a budget director trying his best to hammer home the message that stimulus does work and we need another one.
I'm not going to drag this issue out, but the fact of the matter is under the last three republican presidents government jobs grew in order to maintain a recovery. The private sector is doing pretty good, take a look at the stock market, it's the public sector that's suffering and the public sector is suffering because republican states are cutting the size of there budgets by laying off teachers, fireman, and policeman.
Nobody saw this coming, republicans closing firehouses and police stations to decrease the size of the state budgets in order to assist the federal state legislators efforts to slow growth in order to bring the unemployment rate up to make Obama look bad on the numbers.
No one wants to face the fact that republicans are tanking the economy just to remove this president from office.
Now, picture this, a black man, a smart black man gets a job, does well at that job and a group of white men feel threaten about his abilities and sabotage his efforts, no!, maybe?, possible? check your history, research when a black man or woman became the first to do something in this great nation, start with Jakie Robinson and don't forget Jack Johnson.
